Entrepreneurial Support Network
Community /Community Empowerment
March 27 - 31, 2023 | On the Table
Description
We’d like to show why Macon is the easiest city in the easiest state in which to do business. There are at least 10 organizations that have been formed to help entrepreneurs. These organizations each specialize in an area that would be of interest to a particular type of entrepreneur. Our proposal is to formally define this existing group as an entrepreneurial network, invite them to come together for this table and advertise this network to potential entrepreneurs from all over the country. This network would give Macon the opportunity to list yet one more asset that makes us the best place to be in the state. There have already been discussions about linking together several of these creative or entrepreneurial hubs, but the idea that we could utilize this as an advertisable asset for the city is new.
What is On the Table
On the Table is a one of a kind opportunity to bring people of diverse backgrounds together to have meaningful conversations about topics that are important to the community. This community-wide initiative seeks to explore the ways in which we have the power to collaborate to make our community stronger, safer, and more dynamic.
Following On the Table, the Community Foundation of Central Georgia will survey participants to find out what issues matter most to them and what kinds of ideas for solutions emerged from the day’s conversations. We’ll also help to share some stories of participants to help inspire others to make a difference.
This initiative would not be possible without the generous funding of the John S. and James L. Knight Foundation.
